Topic: Which is best, HC-05 or HC-06 and is voltage-divider advisable?

1. I want to pass PID parameters to my self-balancing robot (and maybe later do some directional stuff) and would like to know if anyone has developed a preference for one or the other Bluetooth modules.
2. Is it necessary to use voltage divider on the bluetooth module to prevent eventual damage?

Thanks.

They are basically the same, except HC-05 can be set as a master but it's useless in your case, both modules will work exactly the same.

I recommend using the voltage divider (or better, a level shifter) but of course it's only needed if your dev board is 5V, and only on the RX line of the bluetooth module.

I haven't used these modules since a long time so don't ask me about configuration etc, I don't remember and don't want to.. Now I'm addicted to ESP32 smile

Thanks Guillaumme. I will try bluetooth first then get into ESP32. Appreciate it.
